How to prepare for your appointment - Your Pet

For our Feline friends: it’s a good idea to have their carrier out for a few days leading up to the visit, as carriers often have an immediate stress-inducing association. It’s always a good plan to use treats and toys to make the carrier more appealing. If your cat spends time outdoors, we recommend that you bring a fecal sample upon arrival. In some instances, your cat may not be sociable around other people or they may be exceptionally fearful. This reactive response sometimes makes any kind of physical examination untenable. In this instance, we may recommend having the animal come back later with administered sedation/anti-anxiety medications to make the visit as easy as possible for the patient.

For our Canine friends: If you have a reactive or overly assertive dog, let us know prior to your visit. Upon your arrival – if necessary – we can use an alternative entrance and usher your dog into an exam room immediately. In some instances, your dog may be unsociable around other people or they may be exceptionally fearful. This reactive response sometimes makes any kind of physical examination challenging. In this instance, we may recommend having your pet come back.

How to prepare for your appointment - The Paperwork

If this is your first visit, we kindly ask that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment. This will allow time for an introduction to the staff and time for your pet to acclimatize to a new environment.

If you haven’t already done so online, you’ll need fill out our New Client Information and Privacy Policy form to bring with you or complete our online form and submit at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Please let us know if your pet has any food allergies, as it’s our habit to use lots of liver treats to make the visit stress free and more enjoyable for the patient!
