Originally from the Philippines, Steve completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science in 1997 from De La Salle University. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Vancouver to explore opportunities in IT and financial services, among others. During this time, however, he always harboured a soft spot in his heart in the field of animal welfare.
His lifelong passion for animals led him to the Animal Health Technology Program at Thompson Rivers University in beautiful Kamloops, BC where he is a recent graduate – class of 2016. He received his RVT designation and honed his skills in a Vancouver-area clinic before re-locating to Toronto with his wife and dog, Charlie. In the areas of veterinary care, Steve is passionate about surgery, specifically anesthesia monitoring, and is studying to learn more about alternative pain management strategies for animals (ie. acupuncture).
He is the proud owner of a super-chill Shih Tzu, named Charlie. More often than not, you’ll see Charlie relaxing on the reception desk at the clinic, helping staff with paperwork and greeting clients.
Steve loves to travel (he has explored Europe extensively) and is training to run his first, official marathon. He and his wife are devoted foodies and regularly enjoy experiencing all the diverse cuisines that Toronto has to offer.
